Career Morning Volunteer Form

Bethlehem Central Middle School
Delmar, New York 12054

Dear Grade 7 Parents,

During your student's career exploration unit, our department annually arranges presentations by parents and other community members relative to their personal careers. Again this year, we are in need of volunteer speakers for Tuesday morning, March 30, 2010.

Volunteers will be grouped in career clusters. There will be four 38-minute sessions between 8:20-11:13 a.m. Each person should plan to talk for 5-6 minutes during each of the four sessions. Information should include: educational requirements, daily routine, and approximate salary range, with a concentration on the skills needed for your job, i.e.: math, communication, team work, problem solving, decision making, etc. At the end of each session there will be a short (5-10 minute) question and answer period directed to all speakers on the panel.

Students will attend four self-selected career cluster panel discussions. Remember, 7th graders enjoy any ''hands-on opportunities'' that may be appropriate (photos, charts, visuals of any nature, handouts, etc.).
.
If you are willing to be part of one of our career cluster panels with other parents on March 30th, please complete and return the form below by February 5th or 6th. If you have any questions, contact us at 439-7460. Trish Henning Ext. 21018 (henntms@bcsd.neric.org) or Monica Bush Ext. 21105 (bushmms@bcsd.neric.org).

We are looking forward to parents’ continued support for Career Morning!

Sincerely ,
Monica Bush & Trish Henning

Please sign and return with your son/daughter stating whether or not you will be able to participate in our Career Morning.
