Charismatic Character or Amazing Author?

PROCESS - Part One

You and a partner will be reading information and taking notes from two different websites about Louisa May Alcott's life. Record this information onto the graphic organizer given to you.

The first website, for The Orchard House, is the home where Louisa wrote Little Women and lived for many years with her family in Concord, MA.

The second website contains a brief biography of Louisa and more connections to her personal ties to Jo March, her main character.

PROCESS - Part Two

Take the information you've learned about Louisa May Alcott and fill in a Venn Diagram comparing Louisa May Alcott to Jo March. Make sure that you base your comparisons on the information that you've collected about Louisa!

PROCESS - Part Three

Use the character card planning sheet to brainstorm ideas and organize your thoughts for both Louisa and Jo. You should complete two of the planning sheets - one for each woman. When filling out the character sheet for Louisa, be sure to think of her not as a character, but as a person!

PROCESS - Part Four

Time for the final product! Click on the Read, Write, Think website link below to create the final version of your character trading cards!

You will create your character trading cards online and print out your finished copies! Remember to use your planning sheet that you finished in Process - Part 3 as a guide. Have fun and good luck!
